The Mathematical Formula
Total Area = Length × Width
Tile Area = Tile Length × Tile Width
Base Tiles = Total Area / Tile Area

Let's say you have a room that is 10 feet by 12 feet. The total area is 120 sq ft.
If you are using 2x2 ft tiles (4 sq ft each), you divide 120 by 4, which equals 30 tiles.
Add 10% for wastage (3 tiles), and your final total is 33 tiles. If they come in boxes of 4, you will need to purchase 9 boxes.
